"Re-Enlist to Life empowers justice-involved Veterans, Veterans experiencing homelessness and Service Members about to exit service, to successfully reintegrate into society and the civilian sector. By providing stable housing and trauma-informed support, we honor their service by ensuring no Veteran is defined by their past, but rather empowered for their future."

Our ethos

The blueprint for Re-Enlist to Life wasn't created in an office—it was formed on the tiers of California’s most challenging correctional facilities. Before founding this organization, Founder Robert "Bobby" Embry, a disabled Veteran himself, worked within prisons as a CBT group Facilitator, at Folsom, San Quentin, CTF Soledad and Salinas Valley.

During his time in the California prison system and later at a large transitional facility, Bobby witnessed a heartbreaking trend: Veterans were being released into a world that didn't know how to translate their service or their trauma. He saw that the "one-size-fits-all" approach often failed justice-involved Veterans, leaving them stuck in a cycle of recidivism. Knowing that his fellow Veterans deserved a path defined by their potential rather than their past mistakes, Bobby founded Re-Enlist to Life to provide the specialized, trauma-informed stability he knew was missing.

Bobby is certified in:
